Fifteen women from CSPC gathered last Saturday for our “Seaside Escape” Women’s Retreat! Led by Crystal Harden, Erin Murphy, Terry David, and Reverend Ferguson, we worked through the story of Sarah, Abraham, and Hagar, as they struggled to reconcile God’s promises with God’s timing. We talked about what it means to be still and trust in God. It was a day of good conversations, good food, and good friendship!
We also spent some time wrapping gifts for women at the Women’s Crisis Center in Northern Kentucky, which works to support and heal women who have dealt with gender-based abuse and violence. The gifts–personal care items for the women and toys for their children–were donated by the women who attended the retreat and by the Christian Education Committee.
Becky Burdick graciously delivered the gifts to the Women’s Crisis Center. She said, “the lady was thrilled with so many gifts from so few people. She loved the gifts for the kids, the clothes and all the presents!”
We are happy and grateful that we were able to serve women in need in our community. The Women’s Retreat team looks forward to us getting together again next year!
